The high school boys’ soccer team showed incredible skill and teamwork this season, making every game exciting for fans and players alike. The team delivered outstanding performances and consistently showed up as a cohesive unit to every game and practice.
Although it wasn’t an all-around winning season, the team still felt as though it was, because of their positive attitudes and the 11 uplifting seniors.
“Even though we were losing, we were still having fun, still team bonding, because there were a lot of seniors, and we’ve all been playing with each other for a while,” Senior Brody Brown said.
All players stepped up and succeeded in their roles as varsity players and good teammates.
“Everybody was kind of their own captain, and we all lifted each other up,” Brown said.
The team did the best they could, considering how many injuries they suffered on the team.
“We had a lot of injuries, and a lot of the games we played, we didn’t have all of our key players,” Brown said.
Varsity soccer coach, Ryan Sisco talks about how his team came together, not just as a soccer team.
“I like to think of soccer as a family. I think this was the first year that was actually like that,” Coach Sisco said.
Overall, though the season may not have gone as the team had wished, every player still played together in terms of teamwork and resilience. The 11 seniors played crucial roles in the team’s achievements and togetherness.
With the guidance of Coach Sisco, the players not only grew as athletes but also as a family, proving that wins don’t always measure success, but by the connections and experiences shared along the way.
