Now that students don’t have their phones on them anymore, there have been a few changes in school. Some say these changes have been a whirlwind of difference, but maybe it hasn’t been as horrific as everyone thinks.
The phone ban has significantly improved social life within students. Because of the ban, more people have been socially interacting with others who they normally wouldn’t even think of talking to.
School spirit is more lively around the halls now, with people being more friendly and talkative towards each other, and not just their friends.
Questions have been raised about safety without the phones and how people will remain safe without their phones, but the school perfectly provides the answer to these questions.
From information found in Michigan.gov, every school is required to have five fire, three safety and two tornado drills per year. This process is easily finished without the need for phones.
The phone ban has undeniably enhanced our school environment, fostering better social connections and academic safety. It’s time for other schools to follow suit and prioritize real-world engagement over digital distractions.

One topic is the issue of emergency. If an emergency were to occur, then the student would be left without a phone or any way to contact a parent or guardian, let alone emergency services. Students are left to fend for themselves with no ability to let anyone know what’s going on.
Another issue with the phone ban is that some students need to figure out some technology issues. It makes it almost impossible for students to log into new accounts and web pages with upgraded technology, like codes that require scanning, texts, and more.
