After a challenging season, varsity player Austin Wildermuth and coach Brett Vernon both express the different aspects of issues the team faced during the season.
“Some of our biggest challenges are within ourselves,” Vernon said. “Making sure we handle the business we need, meaning we are working hard enough, were focused and putting in the time and effort needed for championship teams.”
“We have a lot of negativity on the team right now,” Wildermuth said. “A lot of people aren’t seeing eye to eye, and pointing fingers at each other when the team needs to improve all together.”
Wildermuth, who has been playing football since third grade, has spent the last nine years of his career preparing for success. Over the course of this time, football has grown up with him over the years.
“Yes, it’s grown. It grew on me a lot as I got older.” Wildermuth said.
He wants his peers to remember him by his hard work, and always trying to improve.
“I want to be remembered by always trying my best.” Wildermuth said.
