The girls swim and dive team earned 14 medals and saw four swimmers achieve state-qualifying times. Beyond their success, the team culture is described as the highlight of the girls season.
Allison Lajoie, a senior and diving captain, emphasizes the team’s close-knit bond.
“We’re like a family. We can tell when something’s off with anyone on the team because we spend so much time together. Sometimes we get on each other’s nerves, but that’s how family dynamics are. We support each other through everything,” Lajoie said.
Sophomore Ava Kirkham recalls that the best part of her season was the All City meet, noting that the morale of her team was high even with the loss.
“We felt like we did way better with our cheering and energy than the other team did. We were all having fun with each other, so I think that was a big high point for us,” Kirkham said.
The girls’ swim and dive team has a meet record consisting of seven victories and will compete in conference, regionals, and state meets this November.
